Meritus Health is proud to participate in the Maryland Corps/Service Year Option (SYO), a unique opportunity for young Marylanders to gain meaningful, paid work experience while developing the skills needed to build their future careers.

We are seeking motivated individuals who are ready to learn, grow, and make a difference. You don't need to have your career figured out, and you don't need years of experience. We're looking for potential, reliability, professionalism, communication skills, and a willingness to learn.

Qualified applicants will be considered for available Service Year opportunities throughout Meritus Health based on their interests, strengths, and current organizational needs.

• Patient and customer support
• Clinical and healthcare support
• Pharmacy and laboratory services
• Business and administrative support

Specific placements will depend on current availability and organizational needs.

Program Details

• Temporary, approximately 9-month program
• Full-time: 32–40 hours per week
• $15.00 per hour
• In-person positions in Hagerstown, Maryland
• Paid as a W-2 Meritus Health employee
• Hands-on work experience
• Professional development and mentorship
• Opportunity to explore healthcare and other career pathways
• $6,000 completion award upon successful completion of Maryland Service Year Program requirements

Are You Eligible?

To be considered for the Maryland Service Year Program, applicants must:

• Be a Maryland resident
• Meet the Maryland Service Year Program's age eligibility requirements
• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Be able to commit to a full-time schedule of 32–40 hours per week
• Be able to participate for the duration of the temporary Service Year assignment
• Successfully complete Meritus Health's required pre-employment screening process
