A growing industrial and energy infrastructure business is seeking an Environment, Health & Safety Manager to support manufacturing operations and field installation activities related to electrical power distribution and energy equipment.
This role will lead site-level safety programs within a manufacturing and assembly environment while also supporting safe execution during equipment installation, energisation, testing, and commissioning activities at customer sites. The position requires a hands-on safety leader who can work closely with operations, engineering, production, and field teams to drive a strong safety culture across both shop and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all site EHS activities for a manufacturing and assembly facility producing industrial electrical equipment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and company safety standards
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training initiatives
- Support safe execution of equipment testing, commissioning, and energisation activities
- Oversee electrical safety programs including LOTO, arc flash awareness, energized work controls, and permit systems
- Conduct site audits, inspections, risk assessments, JSAs, and incident investigations
- Partner closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and field installation teams to identify and mitigate operational risks
- Support contractor management and ensure compliance during field installation activities
- Maintain OSHA logs, safety metrics, corrective actions, and compliance documentation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across safety performance and operational processes
- Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, onboarding, and employee training programs
- Support environmental compliance activities including waste management, air permitting, and regulatory reporting where required
Requirements
- 5 years of EHS leadership experience within industrial manufacturing, electrical equipment, power systems, energy infrastructure, or related environments
- Experience supporting high-risk industrial operations involving electrical systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, power distribution equipment, or similar
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, risk management, incident investigation, and contractor safety management
- Familiarity with energized equipment, electrical testing environments, LOTO, and commissioning activities
- Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, engineering, production, and field teams
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a hands-on approach to safety management
- Experience supporting both manufacturing facilities and field-based installation activities is highly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or related certifications
- Experience within switchgear, transformer, electrical manufacturing, EPC, power generation, or energy infrastructure environments
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safe work practices
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
