MERIT is seeking a Senior Manager, Social Strategy to lead day-to-day social strategy across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and emerging platforms. Sitting on the Brand Team and working closely with the Art Director, Social, this role will be responsible for translating brand priorities into platform-native social strategies that drive audience growth, strengthen brand affinity, and keep MERIT culturally relevant.
This person will play a key role in shaping MERIT’s social presence through strategic planning, content creator strategy, and performance reporting. The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist, tastemaker, operator, and creator — someone with strong creative instincts, cultural fluency, and a deep understanding of how to build thoughtful, distinctive social ecosystems.
This is a Los Angeles-based hybrid role, with two required in-office days per week.
Job Duties
- Own MERIT’s overarching social strategy across Instagram (feed Stories), TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, Substack, and emerging platforms
- Manage daily publishing, channel management, and day-to-day social execution across all channels
- Develop platform-specific strategies that support brand storytelling, audience growth, creator partnerships, and product relevance
- Build and manage evergreen, campaign, and launch social calendars in partnership with Creative, Brand, and cross-functional teams
- Collaborate closely with Brand, Creative, CRM, PR, Influencer, Paid, and International teams to ensure social strategy supports broader business priorities
- Develop ongoing content series and original social-first content concepts for campaigns, evergreen moments, creator partnerships, and on-set capture
- Capture or oversee social-first bts content opportunities as needed
- Identify, source, and manage content creators across organic social, including leading communications, developing creative briefs, and overseeing contracts and deliverables.
- Build systems to manage creator deliverables, content opportunities, launch timelines, and cross-functional alignment
- Own weekly, monthly, and campaign-level social analytics and KPI reporting
- Translate performance insights into actionable strategic recommendations across content, creators, and platforms
- Monitor competitive landscape, platform shifts, and cultural trends to evolve MERIT’s social strategy proactively
- Partnering with the CX team on community management and refining social customer communication strategies
Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of experience in social media strategy, brand marketing, digital content, or related fields, ideally within beauty, fashion, lifestyle, or luxury
- Los Angeles-based and available to work in office two days per week
- Proven experience developing social strategies and managing multi-platform content calendars
- Excellent taste level and understanding of best in class brand building
- Comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution
- Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Experience with social analytics, reporting, and performance optimization
- Comfortable shooting and/or overseeing social-first content capture, particularly for TikTok, BTS, and on-set opportunities
- Highly collaborative and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
