Compensation: $140,000–$200,000 Equity
About the Role
As the Front-End Engineering Lead, you will sit at the intersection of technical strategy, people management, and hands-on execution. You won’t just be building interfaces; you will be defining the architectural patterns that allow the platform to scale and leading the team responsible for delivering a seamless, high-performance user experience. You will partner directly with product, design, and backend teams to turn prototypes into production-grade reality, ensuring that complex data is rendered with clarity and speed.
Responsibilities
- Lead and Mentor: Manage a team of front-end engineers, conducting 1:1s, clearing blockers, and fostering a culture of growth and ownership.
- Define Strategy: Set coding standards, architectural patterns, and development processes to ensure long-term scalability and maintainability.
- Build the Core: Optimize and maintain responsive, accessible applications using React, Next.js, and TypeScript.
- Design Systems: Define and implement component libraries that maintain UI consistency and accelerate development velocity.
- Collaborate: Partner with designers to translate wireframes into intuitive experiences and work with backend engineers to design efficient APIs.
Qualifications
- 8 years of professional front-end engineering experience.
- 2 years in a technical leadership role with direct people management experience.
Required Skills
- Expertise in React, Next.js, and TypeScript, with a deep understanding of modern tooling and server-side best practices.
- Strong grasp of state management, performance optimization, and component-driven development.
- A startup-friendly mindset: comfortable with ambiguity, rapid iteration, and wearing multiple hats.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining technical decisions to cross-functional stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience scaling engineering teams in a high-growth environment.
- Experience with data visualization frameworks (e.g., AG Grid, D3).
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and performance monitoring tools.
