Job Description
The Therapist meets with clients individually to provide mental health assessments, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions to meet client driven goals which assist in managing mental health symptoms and psycho-social issues. Therapist works in collaboration with community partners. This position is best suited for someone who has a desire to work with the co-occurring population as the position includes mental health counseling for individuals with substance use disorder. This individual works towards the goal of achieving the most optimum living conditions for the client in the least restrictive setting. Training in evidence-based practices is provided as part of this position.
Therapist duties include:
- providing individual evidenced based therapy
- leading behavioral health groups
- providing mental health assessments
- assisting with case management as needed
- collaborating with treatment teams for quality care coordination
- thorough and timely completion of required clinical documentation
- professional and ethical conduct
Position Requirements:
Education/Experience: Master's degree in mental health counseling, social work, psychology, or related field. One year of experience preferred.
Professional Credentials: Eligible for Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration. Independent licensure in Washington State or working toward licensure required.
Preferred Credentials/Qualifications: Certified Substance Use Professional (SUDP) or Trainee, experience working with substance use disorder and/or co-occurring disorders, and/or desire to gain necessary education/credentialing (SUDP) to serve a co-occurring population is a strong preference.
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing and passing a Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Washington State Patrol Background Check and a Reference Check.
