What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Foreman / Superintendent position at Merit Electric?
Merit Electric is a national electrical contractor seeking Foreman/Superintendents for large retirement community projects nationwide.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all aspects of planning and supervising of large scale complex projects
- Responsible for providing on-site direction and leadership for company employed electricians and sub-contractors
- Inspect work of electricians and sub-contractors
- Maintain safety and quality standards, time requirements, and budget constraints
- Estimate and order supplies and materials needed by electricians
- Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Mastery of the National Electrical Code is preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints, schematics, instructions, and other technical documentation
- Skill in classifying and working with electrical distribution systems, standard electrical wiring methods, troubleshooting, identifying circuit faults, proper grounding and bonding
- Fluent in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word)
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an electrician on large scale electrical projects with at least two (2) years in a foreman / supervisory role
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be willing to travel. (Travel package provided)
- Valid license as a journeyman or master electrician preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Physically fit to stand and bend for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
- Mandatory use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Exposure to weather
