Project Manager – Commercial Flooring
About the Role
Merit Commercial Flooring is seeking a Project Manager to oversee commercial flooring installations from bid award through project closeout. This role is responsible for coordinating schedules, managing subcontractors and crews, maintaining budgets, and serving as the primary point of contact for clients and general contractors throughout the life of each project.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent commercial flooring projects from kickoff through completion
- Develop and maintain project schedules, coordinating with GCs, subcontractors, and internal crews
- Track project budgets, change orders, and material costs; flag variances early
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients and general contractors, providing updates and resolving issues
- Order and coordinate delivery of materials to align with installation schedules
- Assist with moving or organizing inventory/materials on an occasional basis as needed
- Review project plans and specifications to ensure accurate scope and installation requirements
- Manage project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and closeout paperwork
- Collaborate with estimating and sales teams during project handoff
Qualifications
- 1-4 years of project management experience; experience in commercial flooring or a related construction trade preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Proficient with computers, email, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of construction scheduling and budgeting practices
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Physical ability to occasionally lift/move materials or inventory when needed
Pay: $51,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
