Duties
- Oversee daily cashier operations, ensuring accurate retail sales transactions and cash register functions using POS (Point of Sale) systems
- Supervise and motivate cashiers, providing guidance on cashier procedures, customer service standards, and upselling techniques
- Assist customers with product inquiries, conduct product demos when needed, and promote store specials to maximize sales opportunities
- Handle cash drawer balancing, cash handling procedures, and reconcile register totals at shift end with precision
- Maintain a well-stocked checkout area by managing relationships with vendors, ordering product, assisting with stocking shelves and merchandising products to enhance store presentation
- Ensure excellent phone etiquette when answering customer calls and provide prompt assistance or direct inquiries appropriately
- Support team in training new staff on retail math, cashiering processes, and store policies to foster a cohesive work environment
- Maintain and monitor the storefront in order to present the highest standards of quality and sanitation
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in a retail or grocery store environment with strong leadership skills
- Extensive knowledge of POS systems, cash register operations, and retail sales transactions
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal channels
- Demonstrated ability in upselling, customer service excellence, and handling retail math accurately
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and product demonstrations to engage customers effectively
- Strong phone etiquette skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure
- Prior experience in grocery store or retail sales environments is highly desirable
