Bindery Operator

Meridian is excited to add a full-time team member to our growing Production Department. In this role, you’ll work with a variety of finishing equipment in our modern, high-quality production environment. We provide structured training to help motivated candidates grow into a fully skilled Bindery Operator capable of meeting quality, accuracy, and production standards. 

REQUIRED CORE COMPETENCIES 

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in learning bindery/finishing equipment. 
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and overall quality. 
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and established production processes. 
• Comfortable standing and moving for long periods (8–10 hour shifts). 
• Ability to lift 10–15 pounds continuously, and up to 50–70 pounds occasionally. 
• Prior bindery, print finishing, or machine operation experience preferred, but not required for the right candidate. 

WHAT YOU WILL DO 

• Learn to operate a variety of bindery equipment under the guidance of experienced team members. 
• Assist in reading job tickets, preparing materials, and tracking production tasks. 
• Learn setup and operation of cutters, folders, stitchers, drills, coil/comb binding machines, and other finishing equipment. 
• Support quality checks to ensure accuracy in trimming, folding, alignment, and overall appearance. 
• Help maintain inventory of bindery supplies such as blades, drill bits, binding elements, and packaging materials. 
• Participate in routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure equipment reliability. 
• Develop troubleshooting skills to address jams, misfeeds, or quality issues. 
• Gain understanding of best practices in print finishing, workflow, and production efficiency.

• Competitive compensation - experienced operators earn $22.50 per hour, plus a $1,000 sign-on bonus
