Founded in 2011, Meridian School is a public, tuition-free charter school open to all students living in Williamson County. As a charter school, we are a school of “choice,” offering an inquiry-based curriculum and continuum for the International Baccalaureate Program K-12. Primary PurposeAssist teacher in preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements. Work under supervision of a classroom teacher.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct instruction of students under the direct supervision of a teacher.
- Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
- Assist in classroom management.
- Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Help teachers keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
- Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom duty.
- Communicate with the teacher of any noted concerns.
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
- Maintain confidentiality of individual students.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Skill in operating standard computer and software applications.
- Knowledge of District, campus, and classroom policies and procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent and six months of relevant classroom experience.
Work EnvironmentThis position will operate in a professional, non-smoking office environment, which at times can be busy with moderate noise and many unscheduled interruptions. This role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers and peripherals, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
