Job DescriptionThis course is designed to build on algebraic and geometric concepts. It develops advanced algebra skills such as systems of equations, advanced polynomials, imaginary and complex numbers, quadratics, and concepts.
Special Knowledge/Skills- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Successful experience teaching Algebra 2 is preferred
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and others
- Ability to differentiate instruction for all learners
- Ability to participate in and establish collaborative structures
- Proven ability to develop successful academic programs
- Willingness to collaborate regularly with colleagues in a positive, constructive manner
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- At least two years of teaching experience in specific content area is preferred
- Experience with the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program preferred, but not required
This position will operate in a professional, non-smoking office environment, which at times can be busy with moderate noise and many unscheduled interruptions. This role will routinely use standard office equipment such as computers and peripherals, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and Promethean boards.
