Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Architectural Designer to support industrial and semiconductor tool installation projects on-site in Manassas, VA. This role involves creating and updating AutoCAD layout designs, field-verifying and measuring factory spaces for as-built documentation, and working directly with clients to ensure layouts meet code, building, and client standards. The position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clear communication during design reviews, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Create layout designs in AutoCAD for tool installation projects
- Work directly with client to ensure machine layouts follow code, building standards and client standards
- Field verify layouts to ensure accuracy of designs
- Measure and record factory areas for as-building purposes
- Present designs during review meetings and explain decisions made during design process
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) or related field 2–5 years of professional experience in industrial drafting and design
- Basic experience or familiarity with preparing design drawings across all project phases, from schematic design through construction documentation, including associated project deliverables.
- Experience with semiconductor tool installation
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication skills for client meetings and team collaboration
- Ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams.
- Desired:
- Bachelor’s degree in CADD or related field
- Revit experience
- Experience with innovative or complex design projects
- Prior experience coordinating with consultants and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong presentation and graphic skills
- Experience on small and large teams
- Experience with project scoping and development
- Experience with NavisWorks and/or Revit BIM software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability for forward thinking, eagerness to learn best practices, and to contribute with innovative ideas
- Displayed ability to learn quickly and a drive to broaden knowledge base
- Passion for buildings and construction

- • This is an on-site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Manassas, VA.
- • Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday-Friday during normal business hours – nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on ability of site to support and employee preference.
