Janitor/Cleaner/Housekeeper

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of all areas including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemical agents.
• Handle custodial tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, and surface sanitization to maintain hygiene standards.
• Operate commercial cleaning tools such as floor buffers, scrubbers, and polishers to ensure floors are well-maintained and visually appealing.
• Follow safety protocols for chemical handling safety procedures and safe lifting practices during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report issues promptly for resolution.
• Assist with light facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting to support overall building upkeep.
• Adhere strictly to safety guidelines related to chemical agent handling, sanitation procedures, and equipment operation to ensure a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment operation (including floor buffers), and sanitation standards.
• Ability to handle chemical agents safely following proper safety protocol adherence.
• Physical ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for maintaining cleanliness standards.
• Customer service skills are a plus when interacting with staff or residents in shared environments.
• Experience with facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning is advantageous but not mandatory.

Pay: $19.50 - $23.00 per hour
