Overview:
We’re looking for a Registered Nurse for Dr. Eubanks. RN position for Meridian Oncology Associates, an independent medical oncology outpatient clinic providing care for cancer patients.
Job Qualifications:
- Compassionate, kind and empathetic to your patients and their families
- Proficiency in clinical management of complex patients
- Knowledge of chronic illness and comorbidity management
- Well organized and time efficient
- Flexibility and multitasking skills
- A current RN license for the state of MS
- BLS
- Current TB and Hepatitis B vaccination record
- 1 years of nursing experience in a clinic setting and/or oncology preferred
Responsibilities: Primary nurse responsible for scheduling appointments, scheduling ordered tests, chart prep and coordinating patient care. Occasional coverage and cross training in the chemotherapy room is required.
- Follows standard policies and procedures for medical orders according to the antineoplastic agents, analgesics, hematopoietic growth factors, immunosuppressive agents, and antiemetics being administered while following regulations and policies for safe handling and patient protection
- Demonstrates competency in the performance of simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as venipuncture, administration of IV fluids, care of vascular access devices and declotting of lines.
- Assesses patients adherence with medications, treatments and appointments.
- Provides instructions and directions to patients and families on diagnostic tests and antineoplastic treatment side effects.
- Evaluates the need for prescription refills, effectiveness of medications, or medication changes.
- Manages and triages phone calls.
