Estimator – CNC Machining / Precision Manufacturing

Position Overview:
We are seeking an Estimator to join our team and play a key role in managing customer RFQs and supporting our quoting process.
This role is ideal for someone with a machining background who is looking to transition off the floor into a more customer-facing and analytical position.
You will work closely with customers, internal engineering, and operations to deliver timely, competitive quotes while helping us improve and modernize our estimating process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and manage incoming RFQs from customers
- Communicate with customers regarding quote status, clarifications, and timelines
- Prepare quotes using technical drawings, 3D CAD models, historical data, and internal resources
- Prioritize RFQs based on customer importance, complexity, and fit
- Collaborate with internal engineering team on manufacturability and process approach
- Track and manage quote pipeline and follow-ups
- Support improvements to estimating systems and workflows
Qualifications:
- Background in CNC machining, manufacturing, or related field strongly preferred
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings
- Estimating experience is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Practical, problem-solving mindset
Preferred (Not Required):
- Experience with JobBOSS² or similar ERP systems
- Exposure to CAD/CAM or programming
- Interest in process improvement or technology (including AI-driven tools)

Compensation & Schedule:
- Salary: $70,000 – $95,000, based on experience
- Full-time, primarily onsite
- Some flexibility / hybrid potential depending on role and experience
