Estimator – CNC Machining / Precision Manufacturing

Position Overview:

We are seeking an Estimator to join our team and play a key role in managing customer RFQs and supporting our quoting process.

This role is ideal for someone with a machining background who is looking to transition off the floor into a more customer-facing and analytical position.

You will work closely with customers, internal engineering, and operations to deliver timely, competitive quotes while helping us improve and modernize our estimating process.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and manage incoming RFQs from customers
• Communicate with customers regarding quote status, clarifications, and timelines
• Prepare quotes using technical drawings, 3D CAD models, historical data, and internal resources
• Prioritize RFQs based on customer importance, complexity, and fit
• Collaborate with internal engineering team on manufacturability and process approach
• Track and manage quote pipeline and follow-ups
• Support improvements to estimating systems and workflows

Qualifications:

• Background in CNC machining, manufacturing, or related field strongly preferred
• Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Estimating experience is a plus, but not required
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Practical, problem-solving mindset

Preferred (Not Required):

• Experience with JobBOSS² or similar ERP systems
• Exposure to CAD/CAM or programming
• Interest in process improvement or technology (including AI-driven tools)

Compensation & Schedule:

• Salary: $70,000 – $95,000, based on experience
• Full-time, primarily onsite
• Some flexibility / hybrid potential depending on role and experience
