Optometrist Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages.
- Diagnose and manage ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and amblyopia.
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including fundus photography, visual fields, and OCT imaging.
- Prescribe and fit eyeglasses and contact lenses.
- Collaborate with ophthalmology for surgical co-management.
- Educate patients on eye health and preventive care.
- Work closely with other specialties to ensure integrated patient care.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records.
- Stay current through continuing education.
- Assist with staff hiring and training.
- Represent Meridian at provider meetings, community events, and health-focused groups.
- Performs related work as required, and other duties as assigned
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Active Indiana optometry license.
- Valid driver�s license, a driving record meeting Meridian's driving policy, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance required if needed for the employee�s specific location.
