The Role
We’re looking for a Corporate Development Associate to lead origination efforts across the fleet service industry, identifying and building relationships with founder-owned businesses that fit Meridian’s long-term partnership model. This is a foundational role for someone who wants to own the front end of the deal pipeline-from market mapping to first conversation to qualified handoff-at a company built for patient, generational ownership rather than quick flips.
You’ll work closely with Meridian’s leadership team to define target criteria, build out proprietary sourcing channels, and represent Meridian’s values to founders who are evaluating what comes next for the business they built.
· Build and maintain a proprietary pipeline of field service businesses (maintenance, repair, and adjacent segments) that fit Meridian's thesis.
· Develop and execute outbound sourcing strategies, including direct outreach, industry event attendance, and relationship-building with brokers, advisors, and industry contacts.
· Conduct initial conversations with business owners to understand their goals, assess fit, and communicate Meridian's long-term, people-first partnership model.
· Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of prospects and outreach activity in the company's CRM.
· Collaborate with leadership on refining target criteria based on market feedback and deal outcomes.
· Track industry trends, competitive activity, and market dynamics within commercial fleet services to sharpen sourcing strategy over time.
What you Bring
· 3 years of experience in deal sourcing, business development, private equity origination, or a related outbound relationship-building role.
· Strong communication skills and genuine comfort building rapport with small business owners and founders.
· Self-starter mentality-comfortable building a process from scratch and iterating based on results.
· Organized and detail-oriented, with experience using CRM to manage a high-volume outreach pipeline.
· Interest in or familiarity with the fleet services, trades, or broader industrial services space is a plus.
· Based in or willing to relocate to beautiful Miami Beach, FL; this is an on-site role.
Why Meridian
