Duties
- Supervise daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food preparation and service meet quality standards and safety regulations
- Lead, motivate, and manage kitchen staff, including cooks, food handlers, and catering personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Oversee menu planning and food presentation to align with culinary standards and customer expectations
- Coordinate food production schedules to ensure timely delivery of dishes during service hours
- Manage inventory control by monitoring stock levels, ordering supplies, and minimizing waste to optimize costs
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety protocols and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations
- Oversee catering events and banquet functions, ensuring seamless execution from setup to service
- Conduct regular training sessions on food handling, safety practices, and culinary techniques for staff development
- Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed to maintain operational efficiency
- Collaborate with management on staffing schedules, shift management, and operational improvements
Skills
- Proven supervising experience in a busy kitchen or food service environment
- Extensive culinary experience with strong food preparation and cooking skills
- Background in banquet, catering, or fine dining settings preferred
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and ability to manage dietary accommodations effectively
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent team management skills
- Strong organizational skills for inventory management and shift planning
- Familiarity with food safety standards and sanitation practices (e.g., HACCP certification)
