Emerge to the Top of Your Career

At MERGE, we strive to create a superior work experience where talented and ambitious people grow. An experience that encourages people to think higher and feel deeper. An experience where people engage their minds and hearts to do the best work of their careers.

As our Digital Asset Management (DAM) Librarian, you will…

Champion the organization, curation, governance, and lifecycle of all digital media, establishing the DAM system as the company's ultimate "single source of truth."

By enforcing governance policies, minimizing compliance risks, and implementing consistent metadata standards, you will ensure assets are easily searchable and widely adopted across the organization. Ultimately, your success means creative, marketing, and business teams can work faster and more efficiently because approved, on-brand content is always right at their fingertips.

What you’ll do:

Asset Organization & Metadata

  • Establish and maintain metadata schemas, taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and tagging standards.
  • Ensure all assets are properly cataloged with accurate metadata to maximize searchability and usability.
  • Conduct quality control to validate metadata accuracy, file formats, and asset completeness.

Governance & Access Management

  • Enforce DAM governance policies including version control, rights management, retention, and archival processes.
  • Manage user groups, roles, and permissions to ensure proper access based on business needs.
  • Monitor compliance with licensing, usage rights, and expiration dates for digital assets.

User Support & Training

  • Provide day-to-day support for DAM users, resolving issues with uploads, searches, and downloads.
  • Develop user guides, best practice documentation, and conduct training sessions for new and existing users.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business teams, creative groups, and IT to support DAM adoption.

System Management & Optimization

  • Maintain the DAM system by performing regular audits, cleanups, and archiving outdated or redundant content.
  • Collaborate with IT, vendors, and platform administrators on system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Track and report on DAM usage, adoption, and effectiveness through analytics and KPIs.

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Partner with creative, marketing, and business stakeholders to align DAM structure with content supply chain needs.
  • Support campaign and product launches by ensuring assets are available, approved, and distributed on time.
  • Contribute to long-term DAM strategy, including automation, AI/ML tagging, and integration with creative tools and downstream systems.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Information Management, Digital Media, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2–5 years of experience managing digital assets in a DAM system.
  • Strong knowledge of metadata, taxonomy, information architecture, and digital file formats (images, video, audio, design files, documents).
  • Familiarity with rights management, copyright, and brand compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train, support, and influence users across departments.
  • Experience with DAM platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager Assets, Bynder, Brandfolder, MediaValet, or similar.
