The Associate Director of Student Success & Learning Center provides leadership for the Meredith College Learning Center while supporting the broader mission of the Student Success Center. The position oversees tutoring and academic learning support programs, including tutor recruitment, training, scheduling, development, and evaluation. The Associate Director also provides comprehensive academic advising and success coaching to an assigned caseload of students across class years and academic programs.
The position develops personalized academic support strategies, implements proactive interventions for students experiencing academic challenges, and collaborates with faculty mentors, academic departments, Student Success Advisors, Disability Services, and other campus partners. The Associate Director also contributes to student success programming, retention initiatives, assessment, and continuous improvement efforts within the Student Success Center.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Academic Support & Student Success
- Provide comprehensive academic advising and success coaching to an assigned caseload of students from entry to graduation.
- Support students with academic planning, degree progression, course selection, registration, goal setting, and graduation planning.
- Develop personalized support strategies addressing students' academic goals, strengths, needs, and barriers to success.
- Provide academic support related to study strategies, time management, organization, test preparation, and other learning skills.
- Develop proactive outreach and interventions for students experiencing academic difficulty or who may benefit from additional support.
- Facilitate success strategy meetings, contribute to individualized success plans, and support academic recovery efforts.
- Connect students with tutoring, Learning Center resources, and appropriate campus services.
- Provide leadership and oversight of the Meredith College Learning Center and its tutoring and academic learning support programs.
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, mentor, and evaluate peer tutors in collaboration with academic departments and campus partners.
- Develop and maintain effective tutor training, professional development, and evaluation processes, including coordination of IDS 155: Tutor Training.
- Manage tutor schedules, timesheets, and working hours and oversee day-to-day Learning Center operations.
- Manage the Learning Center budget in collaboration with the Director of Student Success.
- Monitor Learning Center utilization, staffing, and student needs to support effective delivery of services.
- Maintain and advance CRLA certification and ensure tutoring practices align with established professional standards.
- Collaborate with faculty mentors, Student Success Advisors, academic departments, Disability Services, and other campus partners to coordinate academic support.
- Serve as a resource to faculty and staff regarding tutoring, academic learning support, student success strategies, and appropriate referrals.
- Establish effective referral and communication pathways between the Learning Center and other student support services.
- Contribute to Student Success Center retention initiatives, workshops, and other programs that promote academic achievement and persistence.
- Collect and analyze data related to tutoring participation, student engagement, academic support utilization, and student outcomes.
- Use assessment findings to evaluate Learning Center services, identify student needs, and inform program improvements.
- Utilize advising, degree audit, early alert, student information, and student success technologies.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student interactions, tutoring services, and program activities.
- Contribute to the strategic direction, policies, and service standards of the Student Success Center.
- Maintain current knowledge of academic advising, tutoring, learning strategies, student development, retention, and student success practices.
- Participate in professional development, institutional initiatives, and other duties that support the mission of the Student Success Center.
- Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, education, psychology, social work, sociology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in higher education, academic advising, student success, learning support, tutoring, or a related area.
- Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- 5 or more years of progressive experience in higher education, academic advising, student success, learning support, tutoring, or a related area.
- Experience with college tutoring, curriculum development, and/or supervising student/peer tutors
- Experience with EAB Navigate/Navigate 360
- Experience recruiting, training, supervising, mentoring, or evaluating student employees, peer tutors, or similar student staff.
- Experience leading a college or university learning center, tutoring program, or academic support program.
- Experience using student success and assessment data to evaluate programs and improve services.
