Our service area spans 15 counties across northern Iowa and southern Minnesota. We serve a population over 260,000.

Position Purpose:

What You Will Do
- Utilizes problem solving knowledge and skills to investigate problems and formulate solutions to improve safety, maximize growth and reduce costs.
- Acts in a professional manner reflecting the mission, philosophy and values of Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa and the Sisters of Mercy.
- Embrace change and takes prudent risk to find new ways to support the mission, encouraging new ideas to serve our patients and communities. Provide and accept coaching and feedback.
- Patrols all buildings and grounds of Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa on foot. Vehicles are to be used covering large parking areas and remote parts of the campus.
- Enforces hospital parking regulations and policy.
- Secures helicopter pad for landing and liftoff.
- Responds immediately to all Code calls, using the fastest and most direct means, and performs directed duties in accordance with Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa Policies.
- Rotating Shifts - 40 hrs. per week
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Law enforcement education preferred.
- At least one year of previous experience with public or military law enforcement agencies preferred.
- Neatness and diplomacy skills required.
- Writing skills necessary to file daily and special reports required.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to read, write and/or speak English.
