Position Overview
As a Cath Lab RN, you’ll play a vital role in performing diagnostic and interventional procedures, delivering direct patient care, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes. This role demands strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with cardiac procedures in the Cath Lab and other procedural areas.
- Perform as scrub tech, circulator, and hemodynamic monitor.
- Monitor patients under conscious sedation and manage IV therapy.
- Respond to cardiac emergencies using BLS/ACLS protocols.
- Educate patients and families, and document care thoroughly.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and regulatory standards.
- Support quality improvement and mentor new team members.
- Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
- Current Iowa RN license.
- BLS, ACLS, Mandatory Reporter certification.
- 2 years Cath Lab or 3 years critical care experience preferred.
- Strong cardiac care knowledge, including EKG interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring.
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
