Position Purpose:

What You Will Do
- Decontaminates dirty equipment and supplies.
- Prepares non-sterile portable equipment and supplies for use.
- Instrument assembly: Inspects and assembles instruments in accordance with Pick card
- Distributes and stores sterile supplies.
- Sterilization of equipment: Loads and unloads sterilization cart and stores items in proper location.
- Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
- Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff, and physicians while performing their job duties.
- Minimum of 6 months experience working with surgical instruments and assisting in patient care preferred.
- Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
- Ability to make decisions without supervision and work collaboratively with others as a team.
- Ability to perform under stressful situations and prioritize according to the urgent needs of the department.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, surgical instruments and sterilization principles.
