MercyOne Genesis is seeking a highly motivated and patient-centered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Orthopedic Walk‑In Clinic team. This is an exciting opportunity to support a busy and fast-growing orthopedic program by providing immediate access to high‑quality musculoskeletal care for acute injuries and urgent orthopedic concerns.
As an advanced practice provider in our walk-in setting, you’ll manage a wide variety of orthopedic conditions, collaborate closely with orthopedic surgeons and APPs, and play a key role in delivering exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients presenting with acute orthopedic and musculoskeletal injuries (sprains, strains, fractures, dislocations, etc.)
- Perform procedures such as splinting, casting, joint injections, reductions (as appropriate), and wound care
- Order and interpret diagnostic imaging and lab work
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons and specialty teams to coordinate ongoing care
- Provide patient education on diagnosis, treatment plans, activity restrictions, and preventive care
- Document encounters thoroughly and accurately in the EMR
- Support the walk‑in clinic’s commitment to efficient and patient‑centered care
