MRI Technologist PRN

Position Purpose: 

Under limited supervision, magnetic resonance exams and procedures are performed under the medical direction of the radiologist in a highly technical and professional manner. 

What you will Do: 

• Performs daily operations of MR exams and procedures on scheduled shift including emergency callback, weekends or holidays as assigned. Operates equipment in a safe and knowledgeable manner.  
• Provides care to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. 
• Communicates effectively and in a timely manner with patients, other staff, radiologists, students and other management.  Actively listens and positively accepts change and is able to deal with stressful situations.   
• Provides patient/family or caregiver education and counseling in recognition and solution of physical, emotional, and environmental health problems. 
• Utilizes correct process for patient identification.  Right patient, right exam, right time. 
• Participates as directed in QA activities, maintains current relevant documentation.

PRN - As Needed, As Available

Minimum Qualifications:  

• Must have relevant credentials as defined below: 
• Successful completion of an accredited two-year Imaging Technology program (ARRT) or ARMRIT certified. 
• Previous MR experience preferred.  MR credential (ARRT or AMRIT) preferred. 
• Maintains active registry status. 
• Completion of the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Mandatory Reporter training specific to the population served within three (3) months of hire. 
• Colleagues employed and working solely in facilities located in Illinois are exempt from this requirement in accordance with applicable state requirements. 
• Maintains Basic Life Support qualification
