Employer Relations Officer

SUMMARY
The Person of Employment Relations is responsible for building relationships and creating awareness
among corporate and community organizations with regards to the benefits of hiring university
students and graduates and of the services of the career and professional development center. The
goals of the position are to increase job posting, recruitment, and hiring activity for the university's
students and graduates and to generate increased monetary and non-monetary support for the career
center and the university.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively develop and implement strategies designed to increase employment opportunities
- Identify and cultivate relationships with organizations and business sectors that historically
students and graduates. Seek to connect these entities with the appropriate resources and
personnel at the career center and/or the university.
- Advise and counsel employers with regards to the most effective means of identifying potential
recruitment, job postings, internships, career fairs, class/organization presentations, and
resume searches.
- Seek to generate monetary support, sponsorships, and gifts-in-kind from the private sector to
- Track job market demand, use of career services, and hiring results for students in various

- Monitor the quality of customer service for the career center, including the collection and
recommendations as to how the career center can maintain and improve quality customer
service.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
