Overview
Radiology Receptionist
Location: Crystal Lake Hospital
Pay Range: 16.89 - 25.33
Hours: 20 hours per week
Shift differential for qualifying shifts (PM shift 15% of base pay, up to $4.50 per hour / Night shift 20% of base pay, up to $6.00/hour)

Individual who act as the central point of communication among patients, partners and providers; responsible for providing front line activities to include registration, and overall support services to patients and guests. Operates multiline telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel by performing the following duties. May be asked to work flexible hours and overtime during peak periods. May be asked to flex hours/shift as needed to support the needs of the department. Performs applications on PACS (Radiology image storage system). Operates the radiology information systems. Review and print schedules. Assists with patient exams as requested by technologist, nurse and/or physician.

Clerical
High School diploma or equivalent
Customer Service Experience Required
Previous medical reception experience preferred.
Medical terminology preferred
Radiant/Cadence Experience Preferred
Certification and Licensure
CPR within 90 days
Skills And Abilities
Basic knowledge of keyboard skills and medical terminology preferred.
Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
Basic knowledge of Epic preferred.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Clerical
- Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel.
- Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel.
- Answers questions about organization, physicians, and available services, providing callers with address, directions, and other information as appropriate.
- Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
- Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required.
- Receives, sorts, and routes mail, and maintains and routes publications.
- Orders, receives, and maintains office supplies.
- Maintains fax machines, assists users, sends faxes, and retrieves and routes incoming faxes.
- Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
- Uses barriers as needed.
- Make copies of the floor room assignments for each modality.
- Update the call binder and white board with current day information.
- Assist and monitor Hold patients in our waiting room
- Process Fed-Ex requests.
- Required to access patient information needed to perform their job duties.
- Responsible for EMR (Electronic Medical Records) registration /check-in processes in Epic.
- Verifies patient demographics.
- Collects signed HIPAA and Consent for Treatment documents and sends documents to Medical Records for scanning.
- Utilizes appropriate patient scripting and verifies patient identifiers.
- Prints wristbands and labels for patients. Attach wristbands to the correct patient for their procedure.
- Safeguards patient privacy and confidentiality per MHS policies.
- Completes the registration check-in process in a timely manner.
- Working knowledge of PACS.
- Prints and faxes reports to Physician’s offices and send with image requests.
- Use web viewer to track images to and from the cloud.
- Burn CD/DVD’s via PACS workstation and/or PACS gear
- Use VPN (Virtual Private Network) to send images and receive from various health systems.
- Import CD/DVD’s into PACS from outside facilities.
- Merge patients in PACS when necessary after a complete review.
- Scan documents into PACS for future reference.
- Use Control Station in PACS to remove a document that was scanned in error.
