MERCY ST LOUIS RADIOLOGY RECOVERY AREA
Status: Full-Time (36 hrs/wk)
Shift: Days - No Call
Overview:
The position is a 0.9 FTE. 4 eight hour shifts one week, and 5 eight hour shifts the other week (two week pay period). The start time for the shifts range from 0530-0900 - depending on where the nurse is scheduled. The weekends are the 2nd Saturday of the month and rotates among all the nurse who work in this role. Typically, the nurses cover 3-4 Saturday shifts a year in the GI lab. Day off during the pay period can vary depending on needs. Each nurse must have ACLS and PALS.
The Radiology Recovery Nurse works in the Breast Center aiding in scheduling biopsies and calling negative biopsy results. Also, one of two IV rooms, the nurse places IVs on outpatients for CT or MRI Test and Treatment prep and recover pediatric patients having a variety of procedures.
This is a flex team position, which means the nurses who work in this position cover 3 of 4 procedural areas. The areas are in Radiology at the Breast Center or IV rooms, GI Lab working in prep and recovery, ASU outpatient surgery center prepping and recovering surgical patients and the Mercy Children’s hospital Test and Treatment which is the outpatient area for pediatric patients having a variety of procedures. When covering in the the GI Lab the flex nurses’ prep and recover adult patients.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing (Associates Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
Experience: 1 year of ICU as a RN or at least 2 years of RN experience.
- Certifications:- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
