RN - Performance Improvement Coordinator, Onsite

Monday - Friday, Day Shift 

5 x 8 hour shifts or 4 x 10 hour shifts

Overview:

 

Under the direction of the Trauma Program Manager, Performance Improvement Coordinator will participate in the implementation, review and support of the trauma program. He or she will utilize audit filters per the American College of Surgeons verification guidelines to assist in establishing performance improvement activities for the trauma program. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

 

In collaboration with leadership, coworkers, and medical staff the coordinator will develop, implement, monitor and champion processes related to key patient safety issues. The Performance Improvement Coordinator will model behaviors that embrace just culture, reporting, flexibility, and learning across the organization. He or she will work directly with organizational leaders and multi-disciplinary teams to identify resources needed to support patient safety improvement projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2 years Trauma clinical experience (nursing) preferred. PI/QI Data experience is strongly preferred.  
  • Required Education: Strongly prefers a BSN 
  • Preferred Education: Master’s degree 
  • Certifications: BLS through the American Hearth Association and prefers TNCC
  • Other Skills and Knowledge: 
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Knowledge of complex hospital and healthcare systems, processes and quality/performance improvement
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Effective change agent.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of the internet, evidence-based medicine, analytical skills and good clinical inquiry and investigational aptitude
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Strong public speaking skills and demonstrated ability in presenting to a variety of co-workers, including physicians, clinicians, administration, and support staff
  • Ability to travel throughout the hospital
