RN Cardiac Cath Lab
Full Time (40 hrs/wk)
Days- Call Required
Overview:
The Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) is part of the Cardiovascular Services department where our focus is mending hearts. We do this by either concentrating on electrical issues which is focusing on the conduction system or blood flow issues or “plumbing of the heart.” Our nurses play an integral role throughout a patient’s visit in the lab.
Nurses are trained in all phases of the procedure which include the pre-op (admissions), circulating (intra-procedure) and the post-op (recovery). Orientation time frames may vary due to level of experience and the amount of exposure a candidate receives to each area. The goal is for the nurse to have a general understanding of all phases when orientation is completed.
Together with seven cardiologists, our nurses and technologists work Monday-Friday with procedures generally scheduled from 8 am to 4 pm. Due to our department providing treatment for cardiac issues, all of our co-workers take rotational call that consist of one weekend per month and typically two days per week. Anyone is welcome to observe for a day to if see if our team is a good fit for you.

Qualifications:
- Education: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Experience: 1 year of RN experience is preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
