Overview:
Responsible for gathering and preparing data necessary for filing all Medicare and Medicaid cost reports; coordinating all audit activities that relate to third party issues; assuring appropriate reimbursement from all parties; analyzing, preparing, and booking the monthly third-party activity; preparing financial and hospital-based analysis requests; providing Mercy-wide and regional provider enrollment support for hospital providers; and, preparing various industry and payer surveys. Performs these tasks in a manner which is consistent with the values and mission of Mercy Health.
Qualifications:
Education: BS Degree in Accounting or Finance.
Experience: Five (5) years experience in healthcare cost reporting.
Other Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, must have immediate Excel knowledge and expereince.
Verbal communication skills
Preferred Licensure:CPA or other is a plus.
Prefered Certification: Certified Hospital Cost Reporting Specliast (CHCRS) or become certified wtihin 24 months of hire.
Preferred Experience: 5 yrs in Medicare cost report preparation or auditing.
Medicare Area Contractor experience is a plus.
Other Skills and Knowledge:
Database software experience in Lawson and General Ledger. accounting.
