Schedule & Shift
• Full-Time: 36 hours per week
• Shift:
○ Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
○ Weekend Option (Fri, Sat & Sun) - $20.00/hour Weekend Option Differential
• 12‑hour shifts
• Self-scheduling available
• Free on-campus parking

Sign‑On Bonus (No Contract Required)
• Up to $10,000 for Experienced Registered Nurses
• Up to $5,000 for New Graduate Registered Nurses (less than one year of experience)

Relocation Assistance
• Up to $3,000 available for eligible out‑of‑state candidates relocating to the St. Louis, MO area to join Mercy Hospital South

About the Unit

• Med Surg 5E cares for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia. This unit provides an excellent environment to strengthen core Med Surg skills, enhance assessment abilities, and manage patients with diverse medical needs.

About the Role

The Medical‑Surgical RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include care coordination, patient safety, documentation, and the delivery of compassionate care aligned with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role offers a strong clinical foundation for nurses who enjoy variety, teamwork, and continued professional development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  (or within 30 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

• Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience

• Specialty certifications

New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds

• Prolonged standing and walking

• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
