Schedule: Part-Time, Night Shift (24 hours/week)

Step into a dynamic, fast-paced 30-bed unit that provides high-quality care to both adult and pediatric patients. While most of our patients are 18 , we also care for a small number of pediatric patients monthly. We serve a diverse range of needs including:
Post-operative care (knees, hips, shoulders, colon resections, bariatric surgery)
Acute medical conditions (sepsis, pancreatitis, stable pneumothorax)
General surgeries (appendectomy, cholecystectomy)

Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6, with strong PCA support.
๐ฉโโ๏ธ Your Role as a Patient Care Associate
Under the guidance of an RN or LPN, the PCA delivers hands-on care to support each patientโs path to recovery.
PCA Responsibilities:
Measure and record vital signs in the electronic medical record
Assist with daily living needs (bathing, meals, toileting, ambulation, mobility)
Provide patient transport and clerical support as needed
Opportunity for Advancement:

Additional PCT Duties (with training):
Phlebotomy & blood cultures
Wound care & enteral feeding
Trach care/suctioning
IV & Foley catheter removal

Mercy offers a fully accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program, equipping you with hands-on experience and nationally recognized credentials.
New to healthcare? No problem โ we provide a comprehensive 175-hour paid training program, meeting Department of Health and Senior Services requirements.
Certifications Required:
BLS (within 1 month of hire)
PCA Competency completion (within 3 months)
๐ Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in a healthcare-related high school program. Current Mercy co-workers are also eligible.
Experience: None required โ weโll train you!
Preferred Certification: CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift/push/pull 50 lbs regularly
Prolonged walking and standing
Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and twisting
