Overview:

Transports patients and equipment to and from various departments within the Medical Center. Performs various patient related activities, as assigned. Trains new co-workers on all aspects of the Transport process. Ensures Patients are transported in a safe manner and proper body mechanics are utilized at all times. Maintains PAR levels for equipment in various locations throughout Mercy. Regularly wears personal protective equipment (PPE). Continuously shows the ability to work well with other co-workers (both within the Patient Transportation Department and other departments). Uses Epic software to track each patient's location as they travel to and from designated areas throughout the facility. Uses Epic software to track patient and equipment movement throughout the facility. Trains new co-workers to operate Epic correctly. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and guiding principles and Mercy Service Standards. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience: One year Transporting
• Experience Two years customer service
• Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) program
• Other: The physical demands described here are the representative of the minimums that must be met by an employee to perform all essential functions of the job. Most physical demands below, plus: Minimal: mid lift of <100# (rare), carrying <12 lbs, push <44 lbs, Pulling <42 lbs, crouching, hand coordination, gripping, pinching, and data entry.
• Occasional: pulling <30# Continuous: Pushing up to 30 lbs, balancing.
• Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Other:Physical Requirements:•    Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.•    Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.•    Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
