The Orthopedic Technician is a specially trained allied health professional who assists orthopedic surgeons working under their direction.Position Details:
Minimum Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification(s): Recommend certification by the National Association of Orthopedic Technologists.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
• Eligible for staff privileges at hospitals in which orthopedic surgeons work.
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy and medical terminology.
• Competency in applying casts and splints and surgical technology.
• Must be capable and willing to keep patients’ films and medical records confidential.
• Responsible for practicing stewardship in the use of supplies.
• Ability to communicate effectively. Must be effective in both oral and written communications.
• Must possess the ability to meet and communicate with patients, physicians and visitors courteously.
• Must be a team worker.
• Must be able to relate well to other people and be tolerant of their conditions.
• Must actively promote harmony and good public image.
• Must be able to effectively delegate tasks.
