Medical-Surgical nursing at Mercy South provides a strong clinical foundation, offering exposure to multiple specialties and diverse patient populations. Nurses build skills in assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking while caring for a wide range of medical and surgical conditions.

Qualifications
Education
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with one of the following:
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Nursing Diploma
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state licensure
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
- New graduates encouraged to apply
- Previous hospital experience preferred for some units
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Specialty certifications
- Prior acute care or specialty unit experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shifts
- Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
