Overview:
The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. Reviews patient information to determine normal heart rhythm pattern, current patterns, and prior variances. Works cooperatively as part of a team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma, G.E.D. and/or current Mercy coworker.
- Monitor tech course completion and/or passing score of 85% on monitor tech competency exam.
- Certifications: CRAT certification within 1 year of hire.
- Other:
- Basic computer skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task is essential.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to make quick decisions under pressure is a must.
- Preferred Experience: Experience preferred but not mandatory.
