Overview:
This new 36-bed unit serves short-stay patients in the observation, extended recovery and discharge-decision process immediately after surgery, as well as those who require a longer recovery time. Only experienced RNs will work on this unit, in 12-hour shifts, alongside Oklahoma’s top surgeons while managing the pre- and post-op care of complex disease processes.
Here you will encounter drains, wound vacs, and NGTs as patients recover from procedures such as colon resections, urological procedures, hysterectomies, jaw reconstructions, hernias, cholecystectomies, bariatrics, thyroidectomies and appendectomies. We also have Med/Surg overflow so you will likely care for patients with medical diagnoses such as UTI, diabetes, ileus, small bowel obstruction, or infectious processes.
Qualifications:
- Required Education: Nursing Degree from an accredited school
- Preferred Education: Prefer BSN but ADN is acceptable
- License: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association
