Overview:
This position provides the necessary leadership, direction, and management control for a functional area of the facility maintenance department assigned to a hospital campus. The assigned hospital campus will include clinics, and other off campus properties assigned to the main hospital campus. The functional area co-workers within the assigned hospital campus will report directly to the Manager position. The purpose of this position is to ensure effective management of the functional area supporting an exceptional Environment of Care for Mercy. Scope of responsibility includes hospital campus, clinics and other properties owned or leased within a specific Mercy Hospital Community.
Qualifications:
Minimum Required Qualifications
- Education: 2 years trade school specializing in electricity, HVAC, refrigeration, or building maintenance, or 5 years experience in a progressive building maintenance position.
- Licensure:
- Valid Drivers License for all Mercy locations-
- Class A/B Tank Operator Training and Certification required for all Mercy locations. Must achieve certification within 90 days of employment.
- Experience: 5 years managing facility maintenance staff.
- Other Skills and Knowledge: Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to effectively build relationships at all levels of the organization. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be flexible and creative in developing solutions that deliver results. Must maintain a valid drivers license. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple initiatives simultaneously and to adapt to rapidly changing schedules, priorities, and workflow. Must have sound judgment and excellent analytical and problem solving skills that deliver practical solutions. Ability to make programmatic changes and decisions derived from data and or regulatory research. Must be able to type and proficient with use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
