What You’ll Do
As a Cardiac Sonographer at The Heart Institute, you'll play a critical role in helping diagnose and guide treatment for cardiovascular conditions through expert imaging. You will:
- Perform high-quality echocardiograms, stress echoes, and transesophageal echo (TEE) studies following established protocols.
- Collaborate closely with cardiologists to capture accurate, clinically valuable images.
- Provide clear, compassionate communication to patients about procedures and expectations.
- Ensure safe operation and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
- Accurately document findings and maintain patient records in accordance with Mercy standards.
- Support the team in advancing best practices, quality initiatives, and imaging excellence.
- RDCS or RCS credential (or eligibility) required.
- Experience in echocardiography within a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and sonographic principles.
- Excellent patient interaction skills, with a calming, reassuring presence.
- Commitment to maintaining accuracy, quality, and compassionate care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative heart care team.
