What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Assistant position at Mercy Ridge Inc?
Mercy Ridge is looking to hire a Resident Assistant on an as needed (PRN) basis in our Assisted Living Department. This position is a non-exempt position and does require a Geriatric Nursing License (GNA). Under the direct supervision of the Resident Care Manager and/or Administrator of Assisted Living, the incumbent is responsible for providing care to residents to enhance the lives of each resident in the Assisted Living environment.
Essential Functions:
- Performs direct and indirect care to resident to include activities such as:
- Bathing, feeding, toileting, performing grooming activities, oral hygiene, cleaning all body areas as needed and denture care
- Measuring intake and output of urine
- Monitors and assists as appropriate in dining room during meal times
- Ensures that the residents laundry is clean and maintained
- Light housekeeping duties in residents rooms
- Transferring residents from bed, chair and wheelchair
- Positioning residents in chairs, beds, wheelchairs, turning and changing position of residents, and lifting resident
- Performing active range of motion with the Residents
- Making occupied and unoccupied beds
- Weighing residents, taking vital signs
- Practicing universal precautions
- Documents care in electronic medical record
