Responsibilities
We are excited to welcome a dedicated and enthusiastic Procedure Coordinator to our front office team for the Gastro Department at Mercy, a busy and patient-focused gastro practice. This is a wonderful opportunity to be part of a supportive, fast-paced environment where your communication and customer service skills will truly make a difference in the patient experience.
- Schedule procedures, in-office procedures, imaging, and clinic visits
- Assist the administrative assistants to track pre-admission testing results assuring they have been received in a timely manner according to office protocol
- Responsible for scheduling procedures with Mercy Endoscopy and outside ambulatory surgical centers for multiple providers
- Help consolidate gaps in procedure schedules to maximize physician productivity
- Will possess knowledge of HMO's, managed care and third party regulations as they apply to a specialty practice
- Answer phones and triage patient phone calls for severity/importance
- Complete all assigned scanning within 72 hours
- Will schedule patient procedures and appointments from the assigned referral workqueue.
- All other duties as assigned
- Education and Work Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of one-year experience in a medical office setting (preferred)
