Responsibilities
Under general supervision, performs repair and maintenance on electronic patient care equipment, including electrical safety testing, installation, calibration and routine maintenance.
Requirements
Education and Work Experience:
- Must possess an associate’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical engineering, Biomedical Engineering Technology equivalent, OEM service training or CBET credentials are excepted.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in biomedical engineering field performing maintenance on clinical medical equipment. Experience in the installation, testing and repair of such equipment.
- Must possess skills in knowledge of the principles and practices of Electronics or Biomedical Technology as applied to the calibration and repair of biomedical equipment and instrumentation with the abilities to perform schematic analysis, interpretation of equipment malfunctioning and soldering techniques.
- Must have knowledge and abilities to effectively use electronic and pneumatic measuring devices. Demonstrate the abilities to use volt/ohm/ammeter, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, function generators, DC power supplies, soldering and desoldering tools, electrical safety, defibrillator, electrosurgical analyzer and patient simulators.
- Familiarity with basic anatomy and Physiology as applied to the use and operation of clinical and radiology equipment.
