Job Summary and Responsibilities
The incumbent is a member of the health care team who is accountable for providing technical and/or supportive services for the Cardiac Surgery procedures under the direct supervision of the Cardiac Surgery Director, and/or the Cardiac Surgery RN, Perfusionist, and Medical Staff. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles or syringes from storage locations, (such as large stock supplies, automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.
Job Requirements
- Three (3) years recent experience in a surgery environment with demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, instrument pprocess and supply.
- BLS from AHA.
- Organize and coordinates a variety of activities simultaneously.
- Takes instruction and follow established procedures.
- Functions independently and effectively,demonstrate initiative, responsibility and good judgment
- Organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.
- Responds to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as prioritizing work as necessary.
- Interacts with a variety of people in a courteous, tactful, and professional manner, demonstrating a positive, caring attitude.
- Demonstrates proper telephone etiquette.
