Family Counselor Job description
JOB TITLE: Sexual assault and Domestic violence counselor
DEPARTMENT: Family Resource Center
REPORT TO: Director of Family Services
SUMMARY
Essential duties and Responsibilities:
To facilitate healing of primary and related sexual assault and domestic violence victims/survivors by providing sound emotional support to victims/survivors
Provides crisis intervention, advocacy, case management, and on-going support counseling to victims of domestic violence and sexual violence.
Provide crisis intervention, short-term individual counseling and ongoing group counseling for victims of sexual assault.
Provide information and referral to individuals
Apply a holistic (mind and body) approach to emotional health care.
Maintain of all case files and other records in strict compliance with policy, regulation, and procedure.
Coordinates service planning and maintains ongoing contact with providers for continuing care of client.
Qualifications:
Ability to work well with a cross section of clients.
Ability to coordinate case management for a diverse client population.
Knowledge of local resources.
Ability to relate well to people in crisis.
Ability to function well in a crisis setting where interruptions are frequent.
Basic knowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault dynamics.
Sexual violence and Domestic violence certification
Master’s degree in Social Work, LSW in NJ with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in social services or an relevant degree, education, training and experience.
Proof of Covid 19 vaccination
