What are the responsibilities and job description for the HOSPICE Registered Nurse (RN) position at Mercy Angels Hospice?

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team at Mercy Angels Hospice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing high-quality patient care and be knowledgeable in various medical specialties.
As a Mercy Angels Hospice Nurse you will be providing our patients with the care they need in their time of need. You will provide nursing care in various settings including but not limited to nursing facilities and patient's homes. You will be apart of an intricate support team as well as provide additional services when required. As a nurse you will assess, address, and report patient's needs to the team to ensure that the patient's needs are met in a timely manner.
Local travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care with in RN scope of practice, while utilizing learned nursing practices.
- Complete Admission/Discharge assessments on patients
- Assess, evaluate, and treat the status of the patient's and their family members
- Writing, initiating and revising a plan of care (when appropriate)
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
- Maintain and complete accurate and detailed clinical notes
- Maintain accurate and timely communication with care team regarding the needs of the patient and their family members.
- Ensure arrangements for equipment, supplies, and any other necessary items are available
Education/Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
Valid IN RN nursing license
Valid Driver License
One (1) year of Hospice, Homecare, Palliative Care or related experience is preferred.
