As the third member of our Legal Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in managing the foundations that keep our Legal department running smoothly, and you’ll have the opportunity to make a real, lasting impact as we scale.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Operations - Our North Star
- Serve as the first point of contact for all Legal and Legal Ops requests- responding when possible, or gathering key details and routing them to the appropriate team member.
- Keep Legal humming by coordinating team agendas and meetings, and tracking Legal’s software subscriptions and renewals.
- Manage updates to our external facing legal terms (e.g. Terms of Service, Privacy Policy).
- Maintain and improve our SOPs, playbooks, and internal documentation so information is accurate, accessible, and easy to navigate.
- Keep records, trackers, and files organized and up to date, supporting consistency and compliance across the team.
- Lead and support team-wide initiatives such as team feedback cycles
- Help onboard new firms to our e-billing software, create new matters for billing, and enforce Mercury’s engagement letters and timekeeper rate approvals.
- Address invoicing questions and coordinate with internal teams to resolve issues.
- Manage updates, troubleshooting, and vendor relationships for our legal tech stack to ensure tools run smoothly for the team.
- Train the team on tools and optimize usage.
- Identify opportunities to automate or streamline workflows.
- Onboard new members of the Legal team, including attorneys and operations staff, and support their integration and training.
- Create helpful resources and deliver ongoing training so team members can confidently navigate our systems and processes.
- 1 years of experience in Legal Operations, as a paralegal, or similar role within an in-house legal department or law firm.
- Proficiency with productivity and legal tech tools (Slack, Google Suite, DocuSign, Adobe, SimpleLegal, Zip, Zendesk, and contract management software).
- Proven project management skills and comfort collaborating cross-functionally.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage many moving pieces at once.
- Clear and confident communication skills.
- A proactive, resourceful mindset and genuine desire to support the team and elevate our operational maturity.

- US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $107,400 - $120,900
- US employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $96,700 - $108,800
- Canadian employees (any location): CAD $101,500 - $114,200
