What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Services Specialist III position at Mercury Systems?
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Order Services Specialist II to serve as a critical liaison between our customers and internal teams. In this role, you’ll manage the complete order lifecycle while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational excellence in a fast-paced, growing environment.
Job Responsibilities
Order Management & Processing:
- Execute end-to-end order management for domestic and international purchase orders
- Review and book orders with appropriate approvals, then acknowledge confirmations to customers or through their portals
- Verify purchase order accuracy against pricing, discount schedules, policies, and customer-specific agreements
- Interpret complex business documents including contracts and agreements to ensure accurate order entry
- Deliver exceptional service through timely order status updates and proactive communication
- Correspond professionally with internal and external stakeholders across Sales Operations, Program Management, Operations, Finance, and customer organizations
- Ensure proper flow-down of customer requirements throughout the order process
- Investigate and resolve order issues by collaborating cross-functionally with multiple departments
- Partner with Planning and Operations to improve On-Time Delivery metrics and develop remediation plans
- Drive continuous process improvements based on data analysis and team insights
- Run reports and analyze data to effectively prioritize workload
- Support quarter-end activities to ensure revenue recognition and timely order booking
- Participate in AS9100 quality audits and recertifications
- Typically requires a minimum of three years of order management and customer service experience
- Proficiency with Oracle or similar ERP systems for order management
- Flexibility to work long hours when needed, especially during month end and end-of-quarter
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Strong business acumen with sound judgment for issue resolution
- Experience processing government orders
- Ability to work hybrid out of Andover, MA preferred, but also open to those who can work hybrid out of Phoenix, AZ
