The hardware electrical engineer is a focal lead that bridges between program/product management, system/architecture engineering, mechanical/CAD, software, and manufacturing. This position is for an emerging individual contributor in the Hardware Electrical Engineering sub-family, who works with highly experienced team members.
Job Responsibilities:
Creatively design, develop and verify complex circuits, modules and systems to meet customer and market requirements. This position is for a Hardware Electrical Engineering with existing experience who is also motivated to learn and develop. The engineer is responsible for the development of complex embedded digital hardware products from concept to completion through lab verification and production. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Sustainment of legacy products with root-cause-corrective-actions, operations and customer support
- Sustainment of legacy products and qualifications for component obsolescence
- Design verification and debug of products through lab testing
- Designing with cutting-edge technology from Intel, Microchip, Xilinx, NVIDIA, TI and beyond
- Interacting with architecture/system engineering, program/product management, CAD & SI, ME, FW/SW, purchasing, and Manufacturing Operations
- Designing using high-speed digital design interfaces including Ethernet, PCIe, DDR SDRAM Memory. Other support circuitry to include DC/DC power, Clocking, JTAG, SPI, I2C, UARTs
- Develop detailed design specifications, test plans, and verification reports
- Develop schematics using Cadence DEHDL (Concept) or equivalent
- Support of CAD and Signal Integrity (SI) with PCB Rules with Cadence Allegro or equivalent
- Utilize LAB tools such as Oscilloscopes and DVMs for verification and debug
- Execute Lab Debug for both HW/SW that range from new development to continued sustaining
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors of Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or related discipline, and typically requires 2 years relevant experience
- Design with Intel CPU architecture (Xeon-D, Cascade Lake, Sapphire Rapids), development, and test including BIOS firmware or other Microprocessor architecture
- Design with network switching (Mellanox, Broadcom, Marvel) or other similar communication technologies
- Analysis including stress derating, reliability, and FMECA
- Schematic integrity checking analysis with Mentor Valydate or equivalent
- Cadence Allegro experience for CAD/SI layout and simulation
- Design with Military Grade Components and Operating Environments
- Requirements traceability (JAMA, DOORS)
- Experience in development of proposals, requirements, and design specifications
- Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance. Secret clearances may only be granted to US Citizens.

- Atlassian Collaboration Tools (JIRA, Confluence)
- Commercial/Defense 3U/6U VPX (VITA46, VITA65)
- Commercial ATCA PICMG 3.0
- Power Supply System Design and High Voltage (AC and DC, 28V, 48V, 270V)
- Experienced in developing for military electrical standards and environments, including designing to meet to MIL-STD-704F, 1275, 461G, 1399, DO-160G.
- Experience in power supply design and EMI compliance (CE EMI and MIL-STD-461G)
- Defense program development
- Commercial Server/Blade experience (motherboards, eATX, ATX)
- Design for Reliability (DFR), Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Cost (DFC)
- Simulation tools such as HSPICE and Ansoft
- Design with high-end video graphics circuits and subsystems (GPUs, NVIDIA)
