Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Manufacturing Engineering Intern eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to the Manufacturing Engineering team. In this hands-on role, you'll support manufacturing process improvements, performance monitoring, and data analytics.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support manufacturing operations to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and operational efficiency
- Partner with the Manufacturing Engineering team to identify and implement process improvements
- Participate in team meetings to contribute to product and process improvement initiatives
- Interpret, analyze, and summarize large datasets to support decision-making
- Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities beyond predefined KPIs
- Conduct statistical data analysis and create clear charts, dashboards, and reports
- Analyze equipment performance and utilization to support continuous improvement
- Monitor and analyze SPC trends and product yield data
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation of analysis, findings, and process changes
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline as a rising junior or senior
- A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
- Working knowledge of statistics and data analysis concepts
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (bonus for Power BI)
- Exposure to Lean Six Sigma tools - Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 5Y analysis etc.
- Exposure to MRP concepts, forecasting methods or inventory management
- Demonstrated leadership through an executive role in a club/organization/athletic team, etc.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab or similar software)
- Self-starter with the ability to proactively collaborate with teams outside of the immediate group to find solutions
- Ability to translate technical and analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences
